Inductor

Inductor is also an electronic component which acts as a storage device. It stores the magnetic field. The device has the capability of storing energy due to its own construction. It consists of a cylindrical core that is surrounded by a copper coil wounded on it.This close winding of coil creates a magnetic field across it.We all know that current in a device or element or a circuit can be determined using ampere's law as it states that both current and magnetic field are interrelated to each other.thereby, the varying magnetic field gives us the rate of change of current which opposes the field(by lenz law).thus due to this change of current, induced voltage or emf is obtained which is what actually expressed in terms of inductance.Similar to a capacitor,it filters down the harmonics in a signal and helps us to block ac in circuits.thus the combination of inductors and capacitors produces a tuned circuit.
I hope this would be useful...bye:)
